Re: Wastegate Acuator

By a Banks Hig Head Actuator for about $220 straight from Banks. They give complete instructions on how to install including preload.
I believe it said to line up the rod with the center of the pin, then tighten 6 more turns. This a little subjective, a mine turned out to have a little to much boost and turned on the SES light. No biggy, just add another turn and test.

Note: I did have to fill the end hole of the rod with an insert, becuase my pin was smaller than their hole. I also had to grind down on side of the rod, as it was thicker than the stock one.

Re: Wastegate Acuator

I'd also recommend the Banks Big Head, although I suggest you get it from Dennis at http://www.itpdiesel.com.

Just put one on my truck this past weekend. Previously only made 21 psi (with this old discontinued scmt that came on my truck). After the big head, made 28 psi getting on the freeway hard. It's got a MUCH stiffer spring inside, so it holds shut until it's supposed to open, rather than start leaking at 5psi and slowly opening to full around 21-22 like the stock one. Great product, so far.

edit - you'll need a boost regulator of some sort also to prevent the SES light and defueling from the map sensor seeing 24+ psi. I'd recommend ITP's.

Re: Wastegate Acuator

Save some $$ and get the Turbo master controller. End result will be the same as BHA but much easier to adjust.
