wastegate e-clip removal

i am installing the turbomaster wastegate. does anyone have any tricks to get the e-clip off with the turbo still in the truck. my knuckles will thank you.

Pull the turbo......

Turbo in and out in an hour tops.

I have pulled mine a couple times, I usually just get the clip loose with a pick and a small common screwdriver. I have also fished in .020" safety wire in the back of the clip and a simple tug pulls it and keeps it retained. Then to reinstall I put a piece of masking tape on the clip to hold it from disappearing in the valley.
