So,, what's your point there? AAMCO does any trans too,,,,,,

(NOT dissing JW or comparing him to AAMCO by any means)

WE all know they are both good builders, those who have JW, like his, those that have BTS like theirs....
I am happy as can be with my 6yr old BTS that is still under warranty I would bet money on that,,, be it in writing, hand shook on or which ever. I have not read about anyone unhappy with their customer service from JW either,,,,

FOR THE UMPTIENTH time,, why does this keep going?

Also Hotstik,, why did your thread on 'da Nation get locked?
On edit, it ain't now, seems it got locked "Accidentally" LOL

It's open again,
Elmo said another mod locked it accidentally, maybe one of the overzealous old mods from here?

Who knows,

J/K,,, I haven't a clue if there are any over there or not,

I've actually learned a lot from this thread, believe it or not. Between all the posturing and the capping and grandstanding, a lot of information about the transmissions and their builders leaked out between the lines, and perspectives that I might never have amassed on my own, are there amongst these 11 pages to see. Mixed in with the humor, and the probable male cattle drops, but the info is in there. Long live this thread.

Yes, both of you got good ones. However, both of you, if you keep the trans long enough, will suffer a break. Which one of you do I think will get the trans fixed for nothing?

Ok so let's hear it, which trans are you going to go with? Eastside or Westside...who you gonna represent? LOL just kidding.

I bet you both of them would be fixed for free. JW's website isn't the bible for how he does business....as is BTS's, as far as their warranties...they're more like guidlines (pirates of the carribean)

this thread will never die! *as i stated in the very first post....get out the popcorn!*

With all this talk about "bubbas" and "wood" , i'm starting to think this is a debate on a prison movie rather than transmissions. Plus, how tough could a BTS be with it's cute little lavendar converter.

did i tell you guys instead of being on here arguing, i should be out there figuring out why the HE** my truck won't even idle when cold..but this is too fun!

So far, I have heard of several BTS trans that have been fixed for free outside of warranty period and even when there was obvious lack of maintenance or abuse. I would love to hear some such stories of JW. So far, nobody has said anything to that effect. I have personally heard Brian tell me that it is the last one I am paying for.

That would be Caged Heat and we would be discussing how one girl is running the show making all the other girls make a meal of her.

Iron fist in a velvet glove.

Why don't you ask BTS if they have a clue? That or Jody. They both will offer you a hand if they can.

already have, thanks though. Fixing a PCM problem first, then going to bring it down to JW's place and leave it so he can diagnose it.

AKLIM, i hooked my trans to my 40' 5er loaded with a sandcar, some water, race fuel, methanol, beer, captain morgan, etc..and i'm going to put the screws to it this weekend. I may be the first one with the answer to the fixin' it out of warranty question..wait that's not for another 3 years..but oh well! I've already done some "spirited" offroading with it...so far it's being nice to me. My stock trans would heat up on the guage pod pretty quickly in the sand dunes..this one doesn't move a bit.

This thread is going to end up like the old "slick 50" commercials. Let's drain the fluid out of a bts and JW trans, and see which one fails first...THEN we'll know who's king.

Screw all of this, let's start posting some pics of our rides!

How about we mount these two 4R100's behind a Cummins N14, QSX, or CAT C15 and haul around 80,000+ pounds and see which tranny blows up. Who knows maybe the tranny's will hold up. Should be fun.

You will have to call the tranny shops to know for sure but somewhere between $3,400 and $4,200 should get you there. Then the upgraded 6L tranny cooler is a great idea as well and those cost around $350 new or you can probably get it cheaper on Ebay.

Also, I know some are running these 4R100's behind the Cummins ISB. Might be an option for your cummins pulling truck as well.
