That post about taking a Chevy tranny to Brian. Brian won't work on my Corvair Van. I tease them at BTS, renaming it to Brians Truck Shop, "The home of super chevrolet service". They just really enjoy that They may not let me in the door with the Corvair, but will tweak the Merc. The thing about the torque converter color, I am always showing off my "BTS Designer Converter". Elvis would have wanted one!

I just installed my BTS trannie yesterday. The guys that came around to hang out for the day were teasing me about having a BARNEY CONVERTER!

BTW the trannie is great. BTS has got my vote for the best in class.

Let them laugh. When the trans breaks, and it will, just like their's, see if they will laugh when you tell them "Sh1t. Trans is broke. Warranty is out so I have to pay for shipping only. Too bad it didn't break DURING warranty otherwise trans and shipping is FREE."

They MIGHT be both matched up but we both know that Brian places more faith in his unit than JW does since the warranty is vastly different. Brian tells you it is the last one you are paying for.

Getting my BTS on Thursday. Should be up and running by the end of the day. Brian also hooked me up with Mobil 1 synthetic and the 6.0 cooler. I hadn't planned on doing all of that and didn't have the extra cash to do it right away but he said he wouldn't have it any other way and threw them in. $500 worth. BTS all the way baby!!

You will love the way that transmission shifts. When I was at BTS Brian
threw in the tranny fluid and that come out to be $120. I did not ask for it
he just gave it to me. They are really great people and will take care of you.
I guess that is why he stays booked up all the time.

I asked Brian what I should get to put in my new trans and he told me Mobile 1 synthetic. Kind of shook me up too, I had always heard he used Schaffers as well. I only assumed he was sending Mobil 1 because thats what he told me to get. Guess I'll know in a couple of days. Whoo Hoo!!! Can't wait.

Broken record. Hyundai sonata...100,000 k 10 year bumper to bumper warranty...does that mean they have faith in their product. Not. I can sell you a used vacuum...and tell you it's the last one you'll ever buy...blah blah..sales pitch Again, not bashing BTS, but you're stuck on that warranty thing. BTS looks like a great trans, and most of you dont' even use it to it's potential...that's good peace of mind i guess. If it helps you sleep at night, great. I lifted my truck the day i brought it home..there went the warranty i was told...oh well who cares. Haven't had to take the truck in once. *well until now, gotta glitch in the idle...but i'm working on that still.

A buddy of mine who builds race trannies for NHRA once said....this is the last tranny you'll have to buy....made me feel good till i broke half track and oiled the track down. But he did replace it for free....that one time. What's the moral of this story? I dont' know, just keeping this thread alive!

As for the tranny fluid for free, nothing's free. They buy it bulk...or probably get most of it for dirt cheap....that's how all shops are. No biggy. didn't pay for mine either.
