Warranty length is not necessarily an indication of the companies faith in their product, it's more an indication in how they approach their business. We offered a lifetime warranty on our fuel systems early on, it was a selling point. Later I looked at it and just couldn't justify it. With changing fuels, unknown additives, inexperienced installers, etc...how could I make myself responsible for the kit for as long as they owned it? It's not that I don't have the same faith in my product that I did originally, I've actually got more faith since I switched to the S.S. braided teflon hose.

This argument has really gotten stupid. "Best" is a relative term. If you prefer a pink TC, the BTS might be "best" for you just because of that. We could make up all different kinds of ways to define "best" in the tranny realm...some would favor JW and some would favor BTS. Like I said before...I've actually had both...I would own both again...but JW was best for me because I don't have to drive 20+ hours to get to him and because there were features of his trans that I liked better than the BTS. Keeping this thread alive any longer is just wasting internet bandwidth.

[quote=415_dezl;1640854]Broken record. Hyundai sonata...100,000 k 10 year bumper to bumper warranty...does that mean they have faith in their product. Not. I can sell you a used vacuum...and tell you it's the last one you'll ever buy...blah blah..sales pitch Again, not bashing BTS, but you're stuck on that warranty thing. BTS looks like a great trans, and most of you dont' even use it to it's potential...that's good peace of mind i guess. If it helps you sleep at night, great. I lifted my truck the day i brought it home..there went the warranty i was told...oh well who cares. Haven't had to take the truck in once. *well until now, gotta glitch in the idle...but i'm working on that still.

A buddy of mine who builds race trannies for NHRA once said....this is the last tranny you'll have to buy....made me feel good till i broke half track and oiled the track down. But he did replace it for free....that one time. What's the moral of this story? I dont' know, just keeping this thread alive!

As for the tranny fluid for free, nothing's free. They buy it bulk...or probably get most of it for dirt cheap....that's how all shops are. No biggy. didn't pay for mine either.[/quo

I really do not care what you think about bulk, cheap, or how shops are, Brian treats All people well at his shop.

If you don't care, why are you responding?

This thread has not gotten stupid, it is just fun to ruffle some feathers..it's like going to chicago and saying the bears suck...gets everyone in a frenzy. The only difference here is i respect both companies very much...unlike BTS bubbas.

I respect both companies very much too. I just respect BTS more. So, if for whatever reason you don't want to deal with BTS, I will recommend JW over say ATS or Monsterbox. Unless the person says they want an expensive doorstop, that is.

It's getting warm and fuzzy in here..what happened to all the slinging? LOL JIM, not all bubbas i guess....i guess there are a chosen few with open minds still! You must not attend the weekly Bubba-Cult meetings at the local doughnut shops.

If we're gonna talk doorstops, the ones at JW shop are better than the ones at BTS.

Cool

Wow! You guys had a busy weekend. I can't say one way or the other "Who has the best Transmission" But, I will say this. If anyone asks I am going to steer them to BTS. Brian, Tina and Patty were so great to work with. I know they were all busy, but the couple of times I needed to call and talk to any of them, they dropped what they were doing and dug in and helped me out. If you have a great product (we can all agree it's a great product) then customer service is what puts you over the top. I don't have experience with any of the other builders so I am being biased, but, like I said before. If anyone asks me. Its gonna be BTS!! Can I be a Bubba now?
P.S. If any one was wondering Brian sent Schaeffer Synthetic. Not Mobil 1.

Yeah! TWO! Heh, heh...

BTS & JW, nuff said. well almost...

Since what DrFord said was flat out laughable, no disrespect intended, but his post shows how little he know's about these TWO 4r100 Super rebuilders.

Word to the wise, stay out of tranny threads until you buy a BTS or JW trans, because you're just an observer until then. You think you know what is going on, but those "in the know" are laughing at your post.

As a Certified Tech, I thought I knew how to build a solid trans, that was until I watched Brian Thompson at work, now I know better.

BTS & JW have legions of loyal fans, so if you want a good unit buy from one of these guys, & you'll be happy regardless. I have purchased 2 BTS transmissions & I intend to buy another. Yeah, yeah, I really like these trucks, and my wife just smiles when I bring home another, what's a guy to do?

Originally, I intended to read this thread, but once I got to the bottom, 10 pages, I see the Game has already been in play for awhile so I'm signing off.

Cheers!

Man, 90K, your motor is still new! The most troublesome component on my truck has been the front hub bearings. It is amazing that many parts are the originals. I am only on the second set of pads, and rotors, third waterpump, third set of u-joints, and carriers bearings, the BTS is the only replacement tranny, The diff bearings replaced twice, but still has the original ring, and pinion, two sets of injectors, 1 turbo, transfer case bearings at 650K. ball joints, only replaced once, the Moog ball joints have 530K presently. The original motor was doing great until 691K, when #7 exhaust valve lifter failed, and broke the inner valve spring. The motor was replaced at BTS. The bottom line, Ford don't make them like this anymore.

what do you do that you drive it so much? and why did you sell the other truck that appears to be identical? just curious.

Yes, aside from hub bearings, and a trans..that's all i 've had to do too. do you plan on making the 1000000 mile mark?
