Buicks suck, okay, not the GNX ...but everything else..*besides the reallllly old stuff* are terrible.

That being said, at least JW builds those trannies too....GM that is..because he doesn't build just one thing, he does them all.

This thread will reach 1000 posts, i will not rest until it does!

I whole-heartedly agree! 1000 posts here we come!

I'm very confident that this goal is attainable too. After all, it's not like the Bubbas are relying on evidence or logic when singing the praises of their trans. They all seem to content to keep recycling the same BS.

So, I think we can look forward to several hundred more posts as to why cookies, kool-aid, and pixie dust make the best trans.

I think a little more info will help. I think we might be a little over 300hp. It should be about 340hp to the ground net. The mods list: Stage1 single shot injectors, van turbo without the warm up valve, Magnaflow 4 inch stainless exhaust, AIS, TS performance chip 40tow, 60tow, 80tow, 80hp, fast idle, stock, ITP regulated return. "Old Reliable" may not be testing the outer limits of HP, due to PMR restrictions, but is somewhat close. The empty weight is 9,400 lbs with all the equipment, 118 gal fuel capacity, FS2500 by pass filtration on the motor, and tranny, two tool boxes, fifth wheel, goose neck, and bumper pull hitches, firestone ride rite helper springs, and compressor, six autometer guages, coolant filter, 6.0 tranny cooler. "Old Reliable" may not be the fastest, but it pulls like a freight train. So far, it has not had it's butt kicked by a Dodge, Chevy, or another Ford. There are many other quicker trucks out there, and one day it will get smoked. The thing is, for a work truck, it does very well. The mix of performance, and reliability is pretty good, for my application.
The BTS tranny gets a pretty good workout, and gets the job done. 448,000 miles on the BTS is excellent proof of reliability.

Hey, thanks for fixing it Your signature does not enlighten us on the "big" power levels your trucks are generating. Please share with us those "big" horsepower numbers, and best et's. Hopefully, we will have enough security clearance for the info. The "war" stories can probably make a good novel, including photos of those smokey burnouts. Dezl, does not know dick about the history of Buick. Apparently, has never heard of Gran Sports, stage1, and 2, The 63 thru 65 Riveria's, the "straight 8's are legandary etc. Dezl, you were almost right, " the really old stuff was terrible", I think you meant to say they made some really "bad" rides.
This thread is not going to make 1000 posts.

Nope...you lack the necessary security clearance. All I can tell you is that both my daily driver and my race truck have built motors (billet rods, etc.) and make more than 340hp.

My sole purpose here is to poke fun at the Bubbas. If you are really dying to know more, there is a thread following the progress of my race truck on another site.

I'd like to know what's in your race truck too. That way when I build my motor right one day I can use the right parts combo.

NO i said that buicks suck *except for the really old stuff*..and what i meant by that are the cars that you mentioned...those are the exception. I was speaking of modern day stuff.

Hotstick, don't hold out bro, show them at least a spy photo..you'll blow these guys away!

*and highwayprisoner*, i do own a 2.3l turbo motor, turbo injected on alcohol that tinkers with the upper 700's on the HP range...and that's with mild tune...all in a 900lb sandrail on paddle tires And no, BTS didn't build the tranny for that..wouldn't want it to break now!

PS, hotstick, we share the same bday, even the year dude..so happy bday tomorrow! I was looking at your profile for pics of your truck, the link (like a BTS) is broken

Dezl, at least we agree on the old Buick stuff. Hey, happy birthday, I have one of those later in the month. The sand rail seems like a fun toy. Sorry, you think a BTS would not hold up the 700HP. I think many BTS trannys withstand more HP, and torque than the sand rail puts out. Dezl, you crack me up, with your anti-BTS stance. Maybe, we will get to see some of hotstick"s "spy photos".
Dezl, I am doing my part to keep the thread going, hopefully you can appreciate, my "playing the game".

I will say this, if a person were to decide between a John Wood Trans or a BTS, you cant go wrong, i have heard nothing but good things about Johns trans. I ended up buying a BTS because i have a BTS Dealer right here in my town, and i absolutely love my BTS. I went back and forth for a long time over which Trans to get, and when the time came and found out about the dealer here, it was a no brainer for me. I would love to geta JW to see the difference. but it is definitely not in my financial future.

Highway Prisoner I appreciate your efforts on keepin this thread alive. The more time you spend on here making posts, the less time you'll be behind the wheel of that truck. And the more you drive that truck with a BTS, the more likely you will hear *BANG* HAHAHA!! had to say it!

Don't think for one minute i'm going to let this thread die before the new year. HOTSTICK, i do believe a picture of your engine compartment is warranted on this thread...if this thread doesn't deserve it..no other does.

Just sayin.
