HPOP low pressure

Hello all. Help please! Current mods are in sig.
When I tow in any setting above (4) I get a check engine light (dont remember the code) but its the Low high pressure oil pump.
Wondering what would be the best option for a fix.
I typically tow around 7000 pounds. I am able to hold 55-60 mph in the mountains with the egts maxing out keeping them around 1200-1250 degrees.
Would I get better fuel economy if I can tow in position (4) 80 tow?
If I buy a booster fuel pump, would it be worth its money in performance for my setup?
Im considering the fuel pump at this time but really dont want to upgrade the turbo and injectors for costs reasons.
Thanks for any help!
Harold

You've got me confused. There are two oil pumps in the motor. The engine oil pump which supplies the motor as well as the HPOP. It's a P1211 if your HPOP can't keep up. Is that the code you get? If so get no-codes tunes to not set the check engine light on or try the adrenaline HPOP (cheapest fix). That's my next mod. DieselSite Adrenaline HPOP - High Pressure Oil Pump for 7.3L and 6.0L Powerstroke Diesels

The fuel pump is a totally separate system. HPOP fires the concentrator pistons in the injectors. Fuel pump fills up the injector.

ahhhh. Okay. Thanks for clearing that up for me. A friend of mine was telling me about the overdrive.....
Overdrive HPOP*Gear Assembies
I would think its something similiar to the adrenaline. Yes, The P1211 low HPOP pressure is what I get only when im towing in positions (4) and above.
I havent had anyone data log my rig while towing so I dont know if the HPOP pressure is getting a "little" low or "dangerously" low.
Thanks!
Harold.

The HPOP should be able to handle stock injectors just fine, unless it is weak. I run a stock HPOP with stage 1 single shot injectors without any problems. Maybe the programming is causing the problem, or a weak HPOP. The stock fuel pump should not be a problem, how much fuel pressure do you have?

Not sure what the pressure is, I have never measured it.
I do have an exhaust leak on one of my up pipes. I bought the kit that international offers for the bellowed up pipes and will be changing them next week.
Another mod I will do next week is the 6.0 intercooler.
Harold.

Westvandude is right with a chip or programmer you will get that code DP makes the tunes with the code delete in it. the other one I got all the time was exhaust backpressure. If you have the tunes with the code deletes and still get the SES light then there is a problem I would call jody and ask before you spend the money on a HPOP unless you were planning on it anyway.

Im not sure, but I think I already have that. When I bought the DP tuner chip I had to install a black valve looking device that I tied into a vacuum line. I think it was the device that is supposed to not allow the overboost code to come on.

Then it sounds like your tunes are asking for more HPOP than your pump can make. Did you get high ICP tunes?

No high icp tunes. I just have the regular 40 tow, 60 tow, 80 tow, 80 econo, and 120 race. I just got an email back from Jody's wife and she replied to me saying that I should send my chip in because Jody has come up with some updates that will cure this problem. She was saying that these updates became avaiable in october of last year.
