05 headlight/ 05 core support conversion with 00 bumper and grill?

Hello , I have my 05 headlights, and the conversion harness ready to put on. I do not want to cut up the factory core support so my question is if I can use the 05 core support that I have with my 05 headlights on my stock 00' bumper and grill. I know that the bottom clips wont match up on the grill but other than that should it fit?

I would think it would work... The only thing that might be an issue is the core and the bumper and also the core and the bottom of the grille. The bottom or the grille might hit the core and not fit??? You can try though...

it only takes a few minutes to cut the older style core if you want to.

if you use an 01 bumper the grille is too long-it won't fit without trimming the bottom. Ebay has the modified 05 grilles for use with 01 bumpers-they have the proper clips and trimmed bottoms to fit. If you use the 05 header youll have to trim the lower portion of the grille.
