08 mirror swap

Is it possible to swap the new 08 mirrors onto the 99+ superduties? I love how they telescope out electrically and also fold in for when you park on the side of the streets.

Re: 08 mirror swap

It is. IIRC, a sponsor here actually sells a kit to do this, but I have no idea how much they are.

They do have the kit for the power fold but it is around $1000. You might as well buy a new truck if your going to spend $1000 on just mirrors.

Danny, Just get the 05 ones... who needs the power fold... Yours should just fold in anyway as fast as that thing moves...

Re: 08 mirror swap

Still hurts like a MOFO! Loaded on Percocet but it's not really making the pain go away. Doctor gave me an exam on Monday to see if I had a concussion. Told me it's not serious, but it's not anywhere near mild. I was like, ok...what's that mean? And he just started laughing.

I'm doing better now, took me 3 hours to figure out how to put the core support, radiator, fan shroud, fan, ac pump, and power steering assembly back on. I just couldn't think straight. And I spent about 30 minutes staring at the Y-pipe trying to figure out how the hell it was gonna fit without ruining the cheap intake manifolds.

Hopefully I'll get everything underneath the hood done tonight. And tomorrow and I'll have the fuel and water separator tapped in since I deleted the fuel bowl. "Should" be running by tomorrow night, but not guaranteeing it because of my condition.

Re: 08 mirror swap

I've already upgraded wiring to accept heated/signal mirrors from 03 up. Is the wiring the same? or will it have to be changed again?

Do you have the part numbers for the mirrors and switches/connectors?
