Advice on 8" lift install for an '06

Just like the title says - I'm doing the install myself to save some cash. It's the Fabtech radius arm kit with steering stabilizer. I was wondering if anyone with lift experience could give me some pointers to make things go smoothly.
Any special tools I'll need besides the pittman arm puller?

Extreme 4X4 on Spike TV did one on an earlier episode, and pretty well walked thru it.. looks pretty straightforward.. if you check your local listings, you might be able to catch that episode on a rerun.. They seem to be replaying it quite frequently.

Aren't there any lift installers lurking around here anymore?

Re: Advice on 8" lift install for an '06

I installed a 6" skyjacker on my 05 about a year ago, and removed it about 6 months ago and installed a 3" rough country.

Its a really easy install. You could use more then one floor jack. 2 will work great. Tall jack stands are a must especially with an 8" lift. YOu will need to get alot of space between the axle and the upper coil spring mount to get those 8" coils in there.
Be patient on the pitman arm, some of them like to stay on the steering box and others will just pop right off.

This is really all the advice i can give you since i havent install that particular lift or remove the radius arms. Just take your time and make sure you have the truck up high enough.

A buddy will really help you out

Justin
