Tell us what you have, why it's best or good and what it cost. I am leaning toward a viper system right now. It has gps tracking and all the bells (remote start/windows up/down/turbo cool down) and whistles, however it is expensive (1400.00) I wonder if my insurance will give me a break? Yes get the viper! Ive been in sales/install of mobile electronics for 11 years now & I am very confident in the viper/python alarms. They are just made better & are mmuch cleaner & easier to install. They have a lifetime gaurantee that is rare to have to use. The $1400 price seems like it might be a little steep depending on which model your gettting but most insurance co will give you a discount if it passively arms. I have the viper560xv on my PSD & the viper800esp on my lightning. Very happy with both. HTH & good luck.

"Theres never time to do it right but theres always time to do it over" - So true
DEI will not stand behind the unit if you install it yourself.....they all are pretty much the same....$1400...you might want to put an alarm on your wallet...shop around, you should be able to get the price down....
BozoWise (Brian) Installed a Python 660xp in my truck. So to your question [ QUOTE ]
I wonder if my insurance will give me a break?

I've had good luck with the Clifford "G" series.(I think that's it) Has a anti-carjack in it. Everytime you get in and shut your door, you have 30 seconds to enter your code, if you fail to do so....off goes the engine and the siren. So, if a theif DOES get into your rig and manages to start it, after 30seconds w/o entering a code, the engine shuts off and the siren wails. Thief shouldn't get more than a few blocks if at all.

I installed a $149.00 Cyclops. It is a relay that replaces your Ford factory starter relay. The truck will not crank unless a button is pressed on a remote key FOB that you carry. The button sends a radio signal to the relay which closes a contact inside, then allowing you to turn the factory key and crank the engine.
The thieves or vandals may break your window/s or take out your radio and such, but the truck cannot be started.
Installation time: about 3 minutes. I keep the original relay safely hidden in the truck just in case the Cyclops should someday fail.
If you are looking for a bunch of bells and whistles, this ain't your route. For simplicity and a no-go truck, I like it.

there are so mant different GPS tracking systems out there.....shop around....you dont have to use that same brand....i use the omega line and they have the GPS2000....it does all kinds of stuff...

My stereo store told me the alarm alone is $699.00 and I can add the gps (If I decide to) later.

Shop around. I found the top of the line Viper(791XV) alarm/remote start at Best Buy for $499 installed, and the next one down (771XV) for $367 installed. They don't roll the windows up/down for that, but you can add that....I'd bet it's for less than $50, too. All you'd need is an interface to your window control.
