I use a Viper 791xv - alarm, remote start, key fob signals if the alarm goes off. Nice for cold winter mornings to begin the warm up. I wouldn't rely on an alarm to keep die hard thieves away though. They just keep the amateurs away, the blinking blue light keeps them looking for another victim...the professionals will just hurry up and get what they want. Unless you're parked in the driveway and let the dogs out as soon as you hear it going off. I paid about $400 installed with a lifetime warranty.

I have pretty much the same setup from Code Alarm with remote start. I also added a gps tracking device that sends me a TXT msg if my alarm goes off. It may not do any good, but I like it.

Compustar is the way to go.

2 way paging - diesel applications (manual shift to boot!)

monitors interior temp, battery voltage (all accessible via key fob).

im looking at one that with a remote that looks like something stock (more so than others), 179 bucks and im installing myself. I need something to keep my stereo where it is. keyless entry, alarm and a led flashing light. I do not care for the remote start. im trying to keep it simple.
