Hello all... This is my first post after some time of lurking. I would like to know how much people typically pay for a lift kit with rims and tires. Please post what you have and the price you paid. Hopefully this post will not be deleted, so if I broke any rules I am sorry. I am currently entertaining the idea of the following:
2004 F350 PSD LWB FX4
Pro Comp 8.5 lift with 6 reseveior shocks
and
Pro Comp Xterrains 37 x 13.5 x 17 on Moto Metal 951 series
Plus all the little things that you'll need like lug nuts and such...
I have a quote for parts only at $4000, is this good?
Please let me know. Also is there any feedback on the Procomp ride quality? Been searching, but haven't found anything yet. Thanks!
2700 +500 install
that was for 8" superlift all springs with bilstiens (bought used but in great shape)900.00
37x13.5x17 nitto mud grapplers (bought on ebay) 5 for 1000. brand new
17x10 mazzi hulk rims (bought new on ebay)800.00 came with lug nuts and stems.
installed locally for 500.00

37" Nitto Mud Grapplers on 17x10 Mazzi Hulk rims
Cool... I like the idea of having all new parts and stuff I can take back to the store if its defective unlike ebay, however those are some damn good prices!
I did a donahoe 4 1/2 inch lift with BFG 35's and American Eagle 1370's wheels and dual Bilstein in front and single in the rear, installed for $3500.00. I have the price breakdown if you want it....Good luck

951's are getting put on just about every lifted truck up near me, especailly the black ones, dunno if its the price or what. The biggest things that can save you money is the rims and tires. Go with an all terrain if you only use it on the road, saves you cash and wear and tear. stay away from 20's and up on the rim, those can be over 900 each for a rim. Shocks with remote resiviors cost me 1200 bucks, and i got a smoking deal on them. don't skimp on the lift kit, i hade an 8 inch kit that was crap, the worst bumpy ride, shelling out a few extra grand will make it all worthwhile

I'll take the break down if you don't mind...
I also notice alot of people on here have the DR suspension as opposed to most others. Is there a certain reason?
Whats the ride quality on the pro comp like?
[/ QUOTE ]
i think its because of the teflon inserts between the leafs, these kits are put on the banks/donahoe baja truck, if they can jump it and send it to baja on a stock lift kit (except for the quadruple bypass shocks) they are good enough for my rig!

I just moved from California so I know that the black rims are starting to get used alot, but I live in Washington now and no one has put them on yet, so I will be a trend setter, lol. What was the 8" lift that was so crappy? (Nice truck btw)
No problem, $1500 for the 4 1/2 kit, with dual shock mount, Bilsteins and block U bolts. $400 labor for install. $560 for AMerican Eagle 1370-7887. $780 for 4 BFG 315/75/16 AT's, and $50 for mount and balance. Total of $3510. out the door.
I think you will be hard pressed to find a performance shop that will not recommend Donahoe for the Ford, simply put it's the best kit for our rigs.
As far as this kit, I stayed with the 4 1/2 becasue it leaves the stock spring, just changes the hangers. Once you go larger, Donahoe then replaces the leafs, and that;s when they use Deaver springs. Really high quality stuff...
Let me know if I can be any help

Does anyone have any recommendations for shops that can do
DR lifts, tires, rims etc. in the Northern Il. area or Southern WI.
I have a friend who is look for a quality shop in that area and he is itching to spend some bucks to lifter up.
Any recommendations, names, addresses etc. would be appreciated.

Saintdog - Before you get set on just one brand of lift, try to catch a ride with someone who has something else. Most people with lifted trucks will let you jump in to see what their truck is all about. I did this before I got my lift. If you see a lifted truck, just ask the driver for a ride to see how the suspension handles...
