I have an 08 F350 FX4 on the way, what is the best push bar or bumper under a grand. I don't want stainless, I think its not as strong, but I want black bars anyway. I know most products are just grille gaurds, but I want somthing strong. My current truck has smittybuilt and its so rusty I can bend the bars with my hand, it started rusting the first winter on my truck. Junk.

Ranchand front end replacements seem to be pretty popular around here.
I like the looks of the stuff from tough country too.
As far as the rust issue, I think some companies will finish the bumper with bed liner, which might hold up to wear and road salt a little better than paint or powdercoating.

Anyone that builds/sells bumpers and guards and powdercoats them usually ends up with a good product. The powdercoat is a good corrosion protectant and holds up alot better. Salty conditions from icey roads etc. though can lead to premature failure of lesser products. Fortunatly, we don't see too much ice and snow where I live.
Does anyone make a version of their bumper for an 08 yet?
I am getting a front and rear from www.buckstop.biz for my new 07. Solid bumper without the "toy monster truck" look of some of the others.
If your looking for a bolt on guard... look into a Polar Bear guard. I had one of those on a Chevy Blazer. Impressed me enough on how well it held up after running head on into a barrier that I bought one for my Dakota, and F350. The blazer would have had minimal damage had I not rolled it after the hit. I have since changed the guard for a ranchhand front end replacement for the winch mount, the TDS member that bought the Polar Bear seemed quite happy of how new it looked after 3 years. Not one spot of rust. I doubt I'll be able to say the same about the ranchhand in three years.
I like Diamond B. they use square tubinf but turn it 45 degree so it is in a diamond shape. Not many people have them so your truck does not look like all the rest. I think it was about 400 installed (they just bolt on) 7 years ago. We have one on the Suburban too, hit a doe at 70mph and the only damage was where the bumper was not protected. All we had to do was spray off the truck and continue with the trip. Without it, we ( me and the family), would have been on the side of the road for a long time.
I have owned several brushguards and probable hit more than 20 deer and 1 600# calf at highway speed and have not found any brushguards that I like more than the Diamond B. The calf totaled the truck but the Ranch Hand did it's job.
If they dont have one for an 08, I am sure they will shortly.

Man that reunal unit looks great except for the side view---it lookslike the nose is bent down. Thought the 1,500 price was great until I saw all the add on prices for the holes, wires, etc. Wonder what that baby weighs.
