Brake Controller

I am trying to find the best way to mount my prodigy brake controller in the truck. I would like to mount it without drilling any holes in the dash, if i have to then i will. I tried mounting it with 4 lb per in 3M velcro interlocking stuff, worked fine until i had to get into 4x4 and accidentally hit the controller and knocked it off Any suggestions on how to mount brake controllers?

Re: Brake Controller

Inside the cubby hole is a popular option. You'll need to drill a hole toward the back of the pocket, but you won't see it and the brake controller will be out of the way.

Re: Brake Controller

I mounted my controller in the cubby hole also. I used bullet connectors (in conjunction with the factory supplied harness) when I wired up the controller, so that I only had to drill a hole large enough to fit the wires through and not the connector. I drilled up at the top of the cubby hole and you cannot see it without crawling in the floorboard and looking for it. It works great and the bullet connectors make for a quick easy removal (never actually had to remove it). I'm like you though, I hate making permanent interior or body modifications.

Re: Brake Controller

The prodigy is odd shaped, does not fit flat into the cubby hole. I ended up drilling / mounting mine below. I could not stand it sitting in there not flush with the bottom of the cubby.

Re: Brake Controller

On my old 2003, I had the Prodigy mounted above the gas pedal using an existing bolt but it was in the way of my foot. Then I mounted it to the flat part of the dash below the cubby hole. That worked well.
