Im new to this site- My buddy was trying to find some information about lifting a 04 4x4 1 ton dually for me. I hear all it takes is a leveling kit. What kind?, how much?, and does anyone have any pictures? Ive been hunting all over the net and can only find this http://www.leadfootindustries.com/f350%20dooley.jpg
It would be nice to get my truck looking like this- Also does anyone have any input on which offroad tires make the least amount of noise on the highway?
i would not put 35's on with a leveling kit, they may squeez on but it would rub really really bad, i am doing a leveling kit and 33's, if i did not have to pull a trailer almost daily i would do a 4inch lift with 35's.

A 4.5" Edge hanger/shackle kit will clear 35s on stock wheels with no problem. You will need custom spacers for the duals to keep the tires from hitting.
My truck has 35's (285's) and a 6" leveling kit. See pics, and scroll to the last folder at the bottom (Oct 23) for the best pics. The front's miss the plastic by about a 1/4". I think much less than 6" and you need to trim the plastic. I have heard of people getting them in with no lift, but they rub a lot on turns. Also, don't hit any big bumps if you go the no lift route.

Are you using the stock rims? I'm looking at raising my 01 dually and would also like to know the biggest tire you can mount on the stock alum. rims.
Sorry for the thread high-jack.

Alot of people on this site will tell you it's not a good idea BUT I have several friends who have been running 315's for years on the stock wheel with no problems. You will have to watch air pressure to make sure they wear correctly since you are running them on a 6" wheel.
If you're pulling "Heavy" loads...it might not be a good idea.
i dont do a ton of heavy pulling- My enclosed is about 5000lbs loaded with the race car and tools. The only reason i got such a huge truck is because my buddy gave me the deal of a century.
Who makes the spacer for the back wheels- or where can i buy some?
35's on stock wheels will rub together on the rear without spacers. I did a lot of research before putting 255/85/16's on my 99.5 dually. These work out to about 33.5"x10.3". I have about 1" between the rear tires wich is almost nothing if you're going to haul or tow anything.
