Door Lock Punching Dirtbags

Well after reading posts about putting the damn JimmyJammers our trucks and just "not getting around to it". I can say I got slammed today.

Now you know they got all the standard electronics and laptop but the thing that really has me pissed is the Garmin Nuvi GPS. It has the names, pictures, phone numbers and addresses of girls I've been dating with the ability to dial and/or navigate to the location with the touch of one button. Thats creepy should this thing fall into the wrong hands.

*** are these locks so easy to do this to??????????????????

Re: Door Lock Punching Dirtbags

I have my toys in a carry case with foam cutouts. Take a look at your slingwing mechanic's toolbox. Easy to carry out to the truck and easy to take in the house when not in use. That way if they get in the truck they will look at the connections and not the goodies.

Re: Door Lock Punching Dirtbags

I know...way too easy. When I insalled the JJ...I couldn't believe how easy it was to get into the truck... very poor design... Wish you the best of luck finding your stuff...did you report it to the police?

I am willing to bet all of them women are going to use the same names you used! Only this time they will be describing you! Pretty stupid of you to lose your trophy case!

LOL,

Joe

I should add, I hope you are man enough to warn these women of what happened! They could contact them claiming to be friends of yours! I would hate to have that on my conscience along with the guilt of playing the field with woman that probably thought you were only dating them!

I hate to say this but the theif won't even turn the dang thing on. It will end up getting traded for drugs or in a pawn shop. Look at how many laptops you see getting stolen with customers information on them...the theives don't even know what they got half the time...

Did you at least call the cops and report it?
good luck,
Steven

Re: Door Lock Punching Dirtbags

The point being that someone he doesnt know and/or trust has information that can set these women up for harm. That is the bottom line period! On top of that, I find it comical that he has known about the issue, not done a thing about it and he is trying to blame the design when a cure has been available for how long?

Sorry Bud, not an ounce of sympathy from this cowboy!

Re: Door Lock Punching Dirtbags

Hey, don't feel too bad. I had a set of original JJ's and thought I was safe. At a gun show in Mesa, AZ around 2pm in the afternoon, they broke into my truck and I didn't know it until I got home and couldn't find my tolls and camera from the back seat floor. When the tec fixed my door lock, I could tell that even with the JJ's it would only take 5 seconds to pop the lock mechanism clip and get into the truck. That's when I thought about using a small hose clamp along with the JJ's. That way, the thief would have to physically break off the entire lock mechanism to get in. Not an easy thing, and very loud. Soon after, the JJ company started including the hose clamps in their kits. Yes, they can still break a window to get in, but the 5 second entry is gone with the Jimmi-Jammers and make sure you use them on all 4 doors. Even without the door locks, the rear doors can be broken into with a screwdriver under the door plate. I really hope that anyone with a SD Ford will seriously consider this relatively cheap insurance to keep from being broken into. It works.
