Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

What is needed to convert a 2005 Dually F350 to single rear wheel? Are the axles different?

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

The rear axles are different. the dually pick up rear is wider, but nothing is needed to just put the SRW wheels on it, they will bolt up. the front, you have to change the hub, and maybe the rotors.

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

1- remove dually wheels
2- remove front spacers
3- remove dually fenders
4- add bushwacker flares
5- use a set of stock or aftermarket single wheels

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

If you are interested, I'll swap all parts needed to do the conversion, if they will fit, from my 2003 F-350,long bed, SWR....bed, rear end, wiring harness, and all. I'm wanting to convert mine to a dually.

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

well, the 99-04's have different axle widths than the the 05+ superduties.

and double check this if i'm wrong, but I think that the DRW and SRW have different bolt patterns as well.

the SRW still have the 8x170mm. the DRW are like 8x200 or something...

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

well, the SRW uses a sterling 10.5" rear, while the DRW uses a Dana 80. the spring pad mounting widths are the same, so you can swap those...otherwise, the DRW axles are wider than the SRW's.

Re: Dually to Single rear wheel conversion...

It be nice if there was some one out there that made a rim that was extra wide and a tire that would fit on it that would fill up the dually fender .That way in MA I don't have to get commercial plates that cast $150 every year .Single wheel trucks can get car plates that are cheeper and renew every 5 years.
