EBC Green Stuff pads for $4.90 - Diesel Forum

Just put on my new Power Slots and pads. Went to Pep-Boys for the Hawk pads (yes Pep-Boys, They have great prices on some really good parts) and the parts guy let me know that they had EBC's in addition to the Hawk Pads. Now I would normally go with the Hawks just because of all the fine things that I have heard about them but the guy there let me know they were clearing out the EBC stuff and they had lowered the prices on all EBC pads to $4.90! The Green Stuff pads are extra duty 4x4 pads that were priced at 82.50 a set! So, not sure if this is nation wide or not but thought I would pass it on..

I run a performance shop specializing in Mazda race/street cars and the Hawk pads are great for track use but they chew up rotors quickly. We use EBC's for all the street cars and including my F250 and love them. My aluminum rims stay very clean, I dont get the brake dust build-up like other aftermarket pads.

$4.90 is a crazy steal of a deal. Did you buy all the pads they had in stock for that price!

They only had two front sets left but yes I bought them both. Wish they had the rear set too but I still feel like a bandit for getting two front sets for $10.50 with tax. Just plain silly!
As for a report on the Power-Slots with the EBC's I did the job myself. Took about an hour. I also did the Pad seating as per EBC and then did the rotor tempering per Power-Slot. Then I put about one hundred miles on them before I had my delivery on the 31st.
All I can say is wow! It just feels like a whole new truck. No more rotor pulsation and the stoping power seems to be at least double. Very happy with the combo and would recomed it to anyone who pulls heavy.
