It's very expensive to move to a bigger size on a commercial-type truck. Your wheels are 19.5'x6" and your tires are 225/70R19.5 G or H.
The next size up, 245/70R19.5 requires wheels at least 6.75" wide, and with the right offset/inset to give you 0.7" more spacing between the dual wheels.
They also make commercial truck tires in sizes 265/70R19.5 and 285/70R19.5, but those require rims at least 7.5" wide and even more spacing between the duals.
When shopping for commercial truck tires, realize that "real truck tires" come in four different types: drive, steer, trailer and all position. The all position tires are usually the most expensive, very few come with an agressive tread, and that's probably what your truck came with from the factory. But if you need more traction, then you want drive tires on the rear axle, steer or all-position tires on the front axle, and trailer tires on the trailer.
Assuming you don't want to spend a fortune on new custom-size wheels, then stick with your stock wheels and go with Michelin XDS2 in size 225/70R19.5 on the rear axle. The XDS2 has a "traction" tread that should fix your traction problem. (Don't even deam about mounting tires that are too wide for your rims.) Michelin Americas Truck Tires - all tires
Then scroll down the middle column until you see XDS2.
Of course, if you want to spend the big bucks for new custom-size rims so you can go with bigger meats, then Stockton Wheel will make them for you. Stockton Wheel Service - Custome Wheels
Be ready for sticker shock when you hear the price.

saw a f550 fire truck last night with 37x13.5x20 mudgrapplers (i think). i talked to the fire chief and he said that they did great with them that wide all around. it was not a dual rear though
i dont really want to go much wider, only a little bit, but i want a couple inches taller.. can anyone point me in the right direction? my tires are pretty bad and need replacing soon

so your saying you cant go taller with stock wheels..?
No bigger - there is really only one size of tire produced for that width of wheel. The Rickson wheel website has a nice page speaking to the F550 wheels and why you can't go bigger.

That's about what it amounts to, if you want a traction tread. As RD97 mentioned, there is an ancient size 8R19.5 no longer widely available that is a half-inch narrower and about an inch and a half more diameter than 225/70R19.5. Check out Bridgestone R187, Goodyear G647 RSS, and Michelin XZA. But those are all highway rib tread, so I doubt they would meet your definition of higher traction than your stock ties.
