Factory to Aftermarket Trailer Brake Controller

A little help here...
My neighbor's factory Trailer Brake Controller went south and the dealership says to replace it will cost several hundred Dollars. So, we wanna go with an aftermarket unit.

Question is, how/where do we find the trailer brake wiring from the dash to the trailer plug.

I'm sure this has been done before, just not by me.
His truck is an '06 F-250 PSD. If any of you have done this change over, we'd appreciate any help.

Thanks, Fatboy

I would buy the factory replacement. I have had several brake controllers & NOTHING works as good as the factory controller.

fitting an aftermarket controller...

Cut, Thanks for the advice but not what we're looking for.

He doesn't wanna spend the several hundred $$'s that Ford wants. He's had aftermarket controller's before this truck and doesn't have a problem with them. Frankly, for the money, I wouldn't replace Ford's controller either.

Still looking for the answer to the question...
Thanks, fatboy

The in dash module (6C3Z2C006AA) is around $225 online if you shop around.
