Front suspension assist when plowing

I have a 8.5' Western Pro plow with the Ultramount. The setup adds about 900lbs to the front of my F-250. I am sure there are plenty of people out there with this type of setup, what do you use to compensate for the extra weight of the plow? Airbags? Coil spacers (solid not the clamps)?

My truck did not come with the snowplow prep.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure about you coil over boys, but I just went with some upgraded factory springs, going from a U to an X code on my 250 for the added weight of my plow, and for a inch or so LIFT!

You might be able to get yourself a diffrent code springs and do the same?

Yeah, a bit different, but the concept is the same ... when you went to the X code springs, did that raise the front of the truck, I don't want any height change which is why I was thinking air bags that would be inflated only when I have the plow on.

Yes the X-codes will raise my truck about an 1-1 1/2. But there were other "lesser" codes that were designed to deal with more weight without much lift.

Im sure the coil codes are the same way.

Can anybody else chime in to help here?

On the other hand if there is a airbag system, all though probrably more $$ than the upgraded springs, you cant deny the cool factor of a setup like that.

Air bag system definitely would have the cool factor, my concern is durability. I used them a lot in my muscle car days, though they look a lot better now.

Anyone have the airbags up front on a coil front end? How was the install?
