What year did Ford change to the clear lens headlights on our superduty and will they fit on my 99.5?
I tried projector lights last year and while they look awsome, I do not like the specific patterns they project. I hope to get clear headlights and move into the HID world.
2002 thru 2004 have the clear lenses. Silverstar ultras #9007 work real well.

Don't take out the batteries, instead remove the 8 bolts that hold the "Grill Filler" and the whole assembly comes out. This will give you access to the back of the headlights to pull the clips off.

I just did this 2 days ago on my 99. You don't have to remove the batterys or the grill filler. Just remove the headlights. The "trick" is removing the silver clips. I saw all the tips listed on this forum, but they were ineffective. I used a flat blade screw driver that I heated the tip with a torch & bent it into a "U". I use this tool to remove heater hoses. I used this tool to remove the headlight clips. The clips are spring clips, so they need an impact load to pop them loose. So, I got under the clip with my u tip screwdriver and gave it a sharp yank. The clips pop out without damage & can be reused.
