so what did you guys do when your heater plug went bad. what did you use and where did you locate it? where did you get your replacement plug and what was the cost for one? out of all the ones out there can you tell me one that will last so i wont have to replace it again. thanks for the replys
If you are talking about the plug on the end of the block heater cord just go down to a hardware store and get one. You should be able to find one for less than $5.00. It has been quite a while since I even looked for one. If you want one that will last there is a mod that places a plug on the bumper or body of your truck or if you want to go another way just tie the cord up in the engine compartment and pop the hood when you want to plug it in.

thanks for the location of the plug thats the one i was looking for whats been the best place to locate one of those plugs for not having any problems down the road from salt or the road conditions ruining the plug
I've had my Marinco for a few years now and being around Chicago I get plenty of salt. There has been no adverse effects on the plug, the wires are fairly tarnished though. But that happened when the first plug went bad. As for placement, that's entirely up to you. Being in the bumper directly in front of the tire it will get all the spray it wants. Don't worry about it, it'll be fine. If you really want to, get a hot glue gun and fill the end with the hot glue to seal it up. Only issue with that is... if you ever need to take the plug off for any reason, you have to remove those wires.

The Marinco Plug comes with a large nut just like any other metal conduit nut. It also comes with three small holes in the outside lip allowing it to be screwed to the surface. I just used the nut and it's been holding well.
