Here's a new one for ya', local oil change facility

I'm still surprised @ what my local oil change facility manager told me. I told him i wanted to have the trans drained and flushed and then a new trans filter installed and refilled with Royal Purple ATF.....He told me he didn't want to do it as trucks (diesel's) with over 80,000 miles are prone to transmission failure if changed over to synthetics (any synthetic). Said it's to much of a shock to the trans, valves, etc. Even recommended that I contact RP and ask if they would cover the trans if it failed after the changeover. I think it's total BS but thought i'd put it out for comments....so whaccha think ??

And there you have it Ladies and Gentlemen, Mark has spoken.

Believing what an oil change monkey tells you (even a SENIOR oil change monkey), is an iffy proposition, no matter where you are. If a guy knows his stuff, do you think he'd be changing oil for a living?

What is amazing to me is that this is not "a new one". There are too many "experts" out there servicing vehicles who have no clue about the latest oil/ fuel/vehicle technologies. They seem to be locked in the past or believe the old myths. Too Bad!!
