Hour meter

Has anyone installed an hour meter for their truck? If so, what brand did you install and where did you get it from?

Re: Hour meter

Veeder-Root C342-2562 led digital display. It accepts a 12-24 vdc input. I got it from a local control shop.

Are you talking about the over-head consol unit?? If so, I don't got one. Just the dash odometer.

Thanks for the lead controlfreak, I'll see if I can find one local.

Re: Hour meter

I put one on my riding mower. I think I got it at Tractor Supply. Aint real pretty, but would be OK under hood or out of sight. Wire to a 12 volt key on hot and there you go!

Re: Hour meter

I put one on my truck last spring. I went to a aircraft salvage place and picked up a used one for $15. I put it under the hood above the brake boost on the firewall. Hooked it to a keyed hot and "Bobs your uncle". It had some time on it, but who cares. Intersetingly, I have averaged 38.5mph since install. Works for me. The one that comes stock from the factory is only in the 05/06's. Previous model years did not have an hour meter, stock, I believe...

Re: Hour meter

Thanks for all the great ideas / leads. I think I have enough to go with. ...I really liked the Aircraft salvage idea. My dad is a pilot and may know where to get a used one [maybe even for free!].

Re: Hour meter

F250Rob,

We have sold a lot of the Isspro square one part #R8864HV, very small and looks good, pretty inexpensive too. They also have round 2 inch ones if you like those, go to Isspro.com and check them out, then call us and tell us which one you want, we have better prices than their site does.

John Deere

I picked mine up at a John Deere dealer. Installed it under the hood as I only use it to document service and repairs.
