Re: hub replacement help?

I replaced my auto hubs with the Warn premium hubs. Good hubs, but lousy customer service from their vendor on a warranty issue. You do not use the small snap ring that is supposed to on the end of the axle shaft. This snap ring is for a different application. The only ring that is used is the spiral ring that holds the inside 1/2 of the lockout into the bearing hub. This is the same groove the old outer snap ring was in.
You also need to disconnect the 4x4 vacuum solenoid. Just unplug it, it is located on the passenger side fender. This will prevent any vacuum from being applied to the old hub vacuum line.

Have you tried the Warn manual hub locks #11690 on your Ford?

They are also not recommended by Warn for a DRW Super Duty pickup.
