lifts - front axle placement

Do any of the off-the-shelf lifts for 99-03 4X4 SDs move the front axle forward? I would like to fit slightly larger tires, but I dont want to hack up the body at the rear of the front fender to make 'em fit. There's so little fender between the tire opening and the forward edge of the door....

Anyone done a custom spring swap to move the axle forward an inch or two? Whats the limit, without pitman arm and steering linkage problems?

Never heard of it, sounds like a bunch of custom fabrication. Try getting a higher lift, or else you will be in a world of custom work.

IIRC, Icon Vehicle Dynamics(used to be Donahoe) does. Check with them on the suspension(lift) you're considering. I think it's an inch on the 8" suspension that I have on the '03. No chance it will get in to the fender.

you could run a zero rate or re-drill the perches to move the axle foward...

alcan spring can make you custom leafs that can will push the axle foward
