Line-X Fender Flares

anyone got a pic of their truck with Line-xed/Rhino lined Fender flares? Also has anyone ever tried doing it theirselves w/ undercoating? How do you think the undercoating would hold up? I just scored some fender flares for cheap but they are an odd color like gold. Would it be best to just undercoat right over the original paint or what prep work would you recommend?

the only prep work really needed would be to take and scuff up the old paint so whatever you choose to spray them with sticks.

I used Durabak on my WARN Pocket Flares. I bought Tan colored Durabak and matching Arizona Beige Urethane paint plus the activator, mixed them all together ( all products are Urethane based ) to closely approximate the Arizona Beige on my King Ranch, and rolled it on the flares... It works great... See my pics for some shots of the flares... Just another option... Prep work consisted of mixing the Durabak with the paint and activator, plus scuffing the flares with steel wool... Rolling on the Durabak/paint with a supplied roller was easy other than I had to hang the flares with string so I could get the 2 coats on every square inch of the flares...

looks good steve i will have to look into that. What/where did you get that ring gear protector on the rear end? That thing looks awesome..... Does anyone know where I can get the screws to put the fender flares on? Someone told me that they are there usually just screwed into nothing if you don't have the flares but I looked and they are not on my truck (the back at least). Are these something that I can just pick up at auto zone or something?

The Rear Diff guard is made by Purple Cranium Products and is called a Half-Spider Guard, Purple Cranium Products ... They make Half guards and Full guards for all sorts of axles, plus aluminum and chrome diff covers, and alot of other cool stuff... I have them on my SD and my Bronco rockcrawler... They come in lots of powder coatred colors or you can paint yourself...
As far as the chrome allen head bolts for the WARN flares, they come with the kit and simply are for looks. The flares actually fasten to the sheet metal using some existing screws and/or several new screw holes you'll need to drill on the lip of the quarter panel... There's also a rubber gasket that mounts between the flares and the sheetmetal too...

LINE-X Xtra, which is fade resistant, holds its gloss, and contains Dupont Kevlar, can be color matched to any color. Professional products are WAY more durable than the solvent based Wallymart bedliner products like Herculiner, Durabak, and Duplicolor.

How durable is the Line-X Xtra on a flexible HDPE or like material? I am thinking about spraying HuskyLiner mudflaps on my dually to match the N-Fab step bars and the bumpers. Your previous advice was excellent and I am completely satisfied with the result on my bumpers. The dirt/salt/grime that sticks to the bumper driving on salted unimproved country roads washes off like the bumper is coated with teflon!
