Upgrades and Aftermarket - GeneralUpgrading and adding aftermarket equipment to your 1999-2007 Super Duty. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are not engine-specific.
So I'm looking to upgrade from the 16.5x9.75's wrapped in 35's to a 17x10 wrapped in a 37, but I am having the hardest time finding 17x10's let alone ones that I like.
What I really want is a 17x10 (possibly an 18x10 if i have to), in the matte black finish. My truck is silver with an 4" lift (just so you can gage the size) so I want to stay away from silver/polished/chrome. Anybody know of any or are running any now? Pics always appreciated
Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid you're out of luck unless you're willing to spend the big bucks for custom wheels.
Very few aftermarket wheel manufacturers make a wheel that's properly engineered for your truck. You need "hub centric" wheels with exactly 4.93" center bore, along with 8-on-170mm bolt pattern. Weld Racing makes a few, but not any that sound like what you want. Weld Racing Wheels – Forged Truck, SUV, Car, Motorcycle and Racing Wheels
Alcoa makes a few, but only in stock size or slightly-oversized wheels - nothing 10" wide or wider for the really big meats.
SVT makes a couple of 8"x18" for '99-'04 PSDs, but not in black, and you want wider than that.
Or if Weld makes a hub-centric wheel you like except for the color, you can have the new wheels powder coated any color you like - including a dull black or dark grey or whatever you can dream up. Painting chrome wheels: Mission Impossible?
Of course you could gamble with wheels that are lug centric instead of the required hub centric. Lots of folks make those "cheap" wheels. But do lots of study on the difference between lug centric and hub centric (pilot bore centered) before you gamble with your life.

Well, Wren, I saw this in another thread and I hope they are right...

"I just picked up some Hotwheels D-back (mfg by kmc) at the local discount tire store. You can add chrome or polished fake beadlock rings, which look identical to the KMC's. They seem to be well built, priced well, hubcentric too. I like the ability to bring them back to a local store in case there are issues, having had some in the past with other combo's."
I ended up buying these in an 18x10. No luck with the 17x10. If this person was right you can add them to the HC list. Thanks for the input. I value the information here. I have no idea what hubcentric or not would do to my truck, but I decided better safe than sorry.

I hope he's right. But there are no specs for center bore on the KMC or DiscountTire websites, so you won't know until you either measure them, try them on for size, or find the specs in your DiscountTire store.
Did you ask your salesman to confirm that the center bore is exactly 4.93 inches?

I hope he is right too. The sales man at discount didn't know You are right though, I looked all over the net for specs and found none. We shall see!
