I doubt you'll notice any difference in fuel economy. Plus: reduced exhaust back pressure. More noise if that is what you like. Minus: Legal questions and more noise if that bothers you.

You will get worse fuel mileage! Believe be it is true. The sound of the unrestricted exhaust is so damn cool, that you will always have your foot way into it. Plan on replacing the motor in your passanger door if you have power windows. The window really gets a workout rolling down as you drive next to concrete walls, semis, large SUVs, buildings, guardrails, and anything the sound can bounce off of. I highly reccomend it. I had my '94 straight piped and it was sweet. Women and small children came running out of houses to see what the heck was coming down the street! I plan on getting a delete pipe for the '06 too!
My .02 cents, Gerald
I *think* he was being sarcastic about the less fuel mileage or was saying that it's reduced due to the "lead foot" syndrome. In and of itself, it should increase mileage.
I'm debating doing this myself. Warranty issues are the main reason I haven't yet done it.

i kept the 3.5" pipe and you know where the muffler and the rear part clamps on? right below the bed? well i put a turn down there and its no louder then with the muffler, will a 4" make it louder?

I did the muffler delete but kept the rest of the exhaust system stock (including the cat). Under normal driving conditions the sound seems to be the same. But when you get-on-it, it sounds great!
