Need to replace front speakers - Suggestions

Not looking to upgrade the headend. One of the speakers is done, lots of crackle. I am not looking for anything highend just something better then the stock ones that I can buy preferrably locally.
They need to fit in the stock location.
Thanks

I really like the Infinities listed in my signature. They've got real good, clear highs which I like.

I found some Pioneers (4ohm/20W) at Walmart. I think they were 3-way and the box said they would fit my truck. Anyone use these?

I went with Polk Audo DB-571. Awesome sound for reasonable price, but not cheap.

I'm a fan of Polk Audio myself. Here is what's in my truck.

db571 Car Audio Speaker from Polk Audio

They're $99 dollars at crutchfield. You can probbably find them cheaper on the net somewhere........

Polk Audio db571 2-way car speakers For 5"x7" and 6"x8" openings at Crutchfield.com

They sound great, don't need a lot of power to sound good.

I got the 6x8 3-way Pioneers up front in my truck. It's a cheap upgrade and worth the $60 for better sound.

Speaker

I currently have the Pioneer speakers in my truck, and I did purchase them at Wal-Mart... Not sure how much I paid for them, but 60-70 bucks sounds about right. If your not looking for high end, but looking for better/clearer high's then this would probably make for your most cost efficient option... On a 1-10 scale the install is somewhere in the 1-2 range. If I remember right you have to replace the speaker plug on the Pioneers with your stock one... Between that and the removal of the door panel is the only part that some may find difficult. As far as fitment, the speakers fit perfectly. Good luck.

I believe these are the speakers I was looking at in Wally World.

Being a Polk fan, I agree! Especially since they're down to about $65/pair on Ebay at the moment.
