Yesterday was my first hour plus trip. A few miles before my destination I noticed the pyro would drop below 400. It idled 5 min and still no drop. I shut it down, turned the key on, off, then back on at the pyro reset at 200 which from the past I noticed was common at idle on my truck.
On my way home comming through a small town with a 35mph limit, I just happen to notice the pyro was pegged at 1600. ??? I let off a bit and it would drop to 1500 but as soon as I gave it a touch of throttle it would peg again at 1600. I pulled right over, reached through the wheel well and felt no abnormal heat. Popped the hood, heat felt fine. I performed the same shut down/reset as before and the needle went to 400. Any ideas???
No trailer, just the X. I installed the gauges with their built harness and I am completely anal when it comes to this stuff. Any ideas before I call Danin? Thanks.
Yep, first thing I checked. It's powered by 'key on' power. Danin verified that's it's correct by the fact that when I shut the motor down, key off, then key back on, the needle resets to zero.
Not only does it climb unusually high but it will freeze at 400, 600, 1000, where ever it wants to. When I shut it down and cycle the key, it frees up. Thanks.
