Seat Conversion

2000 F250 SD

I just traded my 40/40/buckets and console with a 40/40/20 out of a 2003 F350 SD. My driver side was power and passenger was manual. The new seats are both powered and....have heat. I pulled the wire harness off of the F350 but it has more wires on the drivers side than the passenger. The passenger has one more than was on my F250. Can I just make sure the ground wire is grounded and run power to all the wires or is there something special I need to do?

power seat answer

It didn't take me long to realize that there are 5 wires on the driver side. Three match up perfectly. There is an extra red w/a black and a brown with a blue stripe. The two extra wires I just ran in with the green hot wire and everything runs great. I then ran a ground wire to the passenger seat and ran the other three wires it had into the hot lead from the drivers side. It works perfect.

Maybe the extra two wires are for the power to the heater to come from a relay, so you don't run the risk of burning your biscuits?
Don't know, never wired one, but just a thought.

Also, is the heater in the seats adjustable? On my Tig, there are two sets of controls....one for the driver and one for the passenger. If you don't have any type of rheostat dial, then it may be giving you 100% heat juice all the time.
