"Slow" Boost pressure gauge help

Hey guys, I have had an Autometer boost gauge installed in my truck for a pretty good time now, and the other day it started to get slow on me. Not only does it not register above 15 lbs (go-pedal mashed) when I used to get around 28, then it would come down pretty fase, but it stays registered for a while after the motor has unspooled. I traced the tube and find no kinks, tap the gauge frequently and even pulled off at the intake to see whether there was an obstruction in there. In general, it just seems unresponsive. It is installed at the 90 elbow into the intake with a 90 street fitting. Any ideas? Thanks

Two ideas or thoughts...
one your guage has semi solidified lube in it.
Two there is an obstruction some where.

ok another thought...
Get a mighty vac and test the guage for proper operation. Ya it's a vac pump but it can also push air. If you feel like a real man try the oral method. Boy, don't that sound gay? Or a bicycle pump.
