You can get the upfitters to work (make sure you get the whole harness), but like said before the brake controller WILL NOT WORK... you have to swap a lot of junk to get it to work... Not worth it...

Lets see... you will need the brake master cylinder... not sure if they call it that. Then I think it may even run off the trucks computer...

i dont really know how the factory brake controlers work why do you need all that. i know it has two plugs on the back and one has all the regular wires that looks like it would hook up like an aftermarket controler but the other plug has like 5 or 6 little wires on it.

The bad thing about the factory brake controller is just that.....its factory. The wires and everything were designed to run through, in your case, a 07 wire harness and computer. You would be money ahead to use the space in the lower dash piece and install and aftermarket brake controller

There is a little cubby they make that fits right in there. Just about the size of a wallet or a cell phone...

Can any one tell me what all would have to be done to wire up the controler and wonder if it would work with not hooking up all the wires just the ones for the brakes because they look idenctal to what is on my controler

So, we want to install an aftermarket brake controller in an '06 F-250 with a towing package and factory brake controller that went south.

Looking at the Prodigy, they exclude models "with" the towing package.
Probably because the towing package models, I'm guessing, have a factory brake controller.

So how do we go about this?

I believe you can put a factory brake controller on an earlier truck but you must replace the master cylinder as well. That's what makes the factory unit work so well, it senses brake line pressure. There's a Ford dealer in Michigan that sells the kit (which includes the M/C) for about $450.00

Well get the part #. I want to do the switches and need a new controller as well. I'm skeptical that the factory controller will go in a older truck though.
