I saw that one coming. I read the loudest horn thread a couple months ago - some of those prices will literally take your breath away.

Good luck.

Re: who makes the loudest train horn?

I run in series, the cannon ball from "mypushcart" the anvil from Siege, AND a 28" semi horn all together, all from ebay sellers. It is loud, but still far from any train I ever heard. 8 galls of 150 PSI gets about a 15 second honk. Way long enough to make someone potty in their fake leather rice burner seats! not that I ever would...

Re: who makes the loudest train horn?

The Siege Engineering horns are about as close to a train horn as you're going to get, although you won't be getting 100% of what a real train horn will give you. Siege makes 3, 4, and 5 trumpet horns, and you can get the blemished horns (which are fine for mounting under a truck) for a bit less.

Another horn that supposedly sounds like a train horn is the Cannonball Express - search for those on Ebay.

Any horn that's going to be close to a train horn and really loud will require an air tank and compressor. The benefit there is that you do get the ability to have onboard air for other things, such as tire inflation, air bags, etc.

Re: who makes the loudest train horn?

I got sick of waiting at green lights and being cut off in town, so in rage after a LONG lunch break i got on ebay and bought a set of THESE Price wasn't too bad for what you get. The air compressor is the better one w/100% duty cycle and rated to 150psi, and the 2.5 gal tank is nice so I can get a good long blast. . .or eventually running air tools in the truck. Also, the higher PSI is important to get the louder capacity from the horn. And the horns are LOUD!! I ran them off my stock horn relay since the factory ones were shot. . .it is a great stress releiver. . .and a good cure for road rage. I would definately recommend them. PS- don't stand right outside your truck when you blow them (depending on where they're mounted) I mounted mine right under the passenger seat under the cab. . .would concider a shield to keep snow out cause they do freeze up in the snowy slushy weather, but if i blow them standing outside my truck its enough to hurt your ears.
