2000 F250 Dash removal question

Ok, I've been searching thru the threads and I have the tool necessary to remove the factory radio and understand the dash will just unsnap from the clips. I have read conflicting information about the headlight switch though. Some say you have to remove it by depressing something with a small screwdriver and then twisting the knob 180 degrees and others say you just have to pull the dash off and then pull the wires loose from the headlight switch from the back. Can somebody help me out?

Do a search for Dash Lights. Someone just had a post on this within the last week or so.

When I've taken my dash off, I just used the latter method. Leave the headlight switch in place and disconnect the two wiring connectors from it. Not hard at all.

There are two screws in the top of the radio opening that you'll need to remove (or at least loosen) before pulling the dash off.

Believe it or not. I got my new stereo installed perfectly without even having to remove the dash. Whether or not it ever will come out of there again is another story...
