Overhead console sunglasses door latch is broken. The whole assembly needs to be replaced. Purchased part, but dealer says I will brake the electronics because I don't have something I need. Has anyone done this replacement. Please advise.

Not to sound like I'm telling you how to do something but.....if it's the latch for the door, isn't the latch ON the door? So don't you have to replace just the door? Mine broke too and the door cost was $80!! I think the cost of the whole overhead was half that.

Luckily, my doors were broken (yes, both) when I had stereo work done and the guys broke the overhead when they did their work. They replaced it and now I don't use the doors anymore.

Need help having hard time starting. fuel pressure 50 when key turned on . after pump turns off pressure bleads off...while running fuel pressure at 50 .....when i do get it started in the morning sounds like its running on 4 cyl for about 1 min then it clears up ...icp pressure is good over 500 when starting ...and sug or tech info..

You did'nt make it clear as to what "part" you purchased. If you're replacing the whole console, just pry evenly around the perimeter of the console - it's only held in place with spring clips, there are no screws involved. There are no electronics, wires, etc attached to the console either. You'll see what I mean when you remove it. As for the door, if you only want to replace that, then you'll have to snap it into place of where the old one was.

Not so, as one of those doors takes a screw to get it off. You'll need to pop off the entire console and then undo the screw. It's cheaper to get an entire complete console than to buy just one door. Crazy, but true.

"So" - just had a look at my manual as well as my console (the one I removed), as well as a a couple of websites, and I don't see the screw you refer to. The only screws I see are the ones holding the black sub-console (with the electronics, etc), underneath the outer console. Of course, you don't need to remove that to do what Mbonn21 wants. Here's a pic and description of someone elses removal, which describes the procedure as: "This was the nerve wracking part. Just tug on the plastic cover for the overhead console to pop it loose. It sounds like it's breaking apart, but it's just the clips coming loose."

Thank you everyone who helped answer my questions. It's 90+ degrees outside, so I will wait until this evening or early tomorow to do it, but now I don'w worry so much about breaking anything.

Roadfrog-I am referring to the rear door, it has a screw to get it off. The entire console pops off, no screws. The front door doesn't have a screw, but it's still better to take the entire colsole off to replace as the little ears are easy to break.
