Hopefully you guys can help me...Is there a write up anywhere about changing a bulb in the instrument cluster? how hard is it to do? Any and all info appreciated.

Not sure if yours is much different than my '02, but you just remove the dash cover, which pops off, you will need to pull a few of the switches first. Then the instrument cluster is held in with 4 screws. With an auto, you have to pop out the shifter indicator, but it is just a plastic catch. Then you should be able to access all the bulbs.
They are 4 years apart so you may find differences, but not too much...hopefully
