4 X 4 Hub Question

I have a 1999 F-250 4 X 4. The plastic dial in the lock out hub broke! Ford says that I have to replace the entire hub, to the tune of a couple hundred bucks.

Has anyone herd of just replacing the plastic hub?

Try looking on ebay or craigslist.org for a used one, here is a set on ebay now: eBay Motors: FORD FRONT LOCKING HUBS OEM SUPERDUTY F250,F350 CHEEP ! (item 230266060882 end time Jul-04-08 10:00:03 PDT)

The other choice is to buy a set of Warn hubs which are alot stronger and cost less than 1 factory hub.
