Another auto hub no worky thread

Hey everyone, just wanted to start off by saying thanks for all the info on this site, I've read a pretty good bit and learn new stuff all the time. I, like many others on here, am having trouble with my auto hubs. They are not working. And let me say, I'm very used to 4wds, I build offroad jeep and rockcrawlers, but I've never messed with a system like this. Here a picture of my jeep, my 06 f-250s only job is to pull it to the trail, and pull my jon boat to the lake.

Anyway, here's what I've done so far. I have verified that the tcase is working. I pulled the vacuum lines off going to the hubs, and engaged the tcase, and the front d/s spins. I have checked the little vacuum pump by putting it into 4wd. The pump runs for about 45 secs or so, shuts off, then runs again. It did this twice and did not come back on, but I think this is normal, or I just didn't wait long enough for the 3rd cycle. I haven't put a vacuum gauge on the line at the hubs, but that is my next step to see if I have a leak, which I have traced my lines and can't find anything obvious.

Does this sound like it could be the seal on the backside of the unit bearing? I didn't check the fuses, but I'm pretty sure the only fuse in the system is the one running the pump, and the pump is obviously coming on. Anybody have any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks for the help, Clayton.

Right...so on the inside of the passenger side fender is the PVH Solenoid...so bit tricky but you could pull the output side hose to see if it pulses when switching between 2x4 to 4x4. Tricky because it is not intended to maintain vacuum to hubs only does a pulse sequence to cam them on or off...
Its located forward of the vacuum pump and connects to the Vacuum tank (provides volume to support your Hubs and Cab vent controls).

Is this the thing in front of the vacuum pump. It's got 2 ports on the side closest to the battery?

yes that is the PVH.

I have bypassed the vacuum lines going to my hubs and using the manual locks when I need 4wd.

Just wanted to bring a little closure to this thread for anyone else. I ran some test with the vacuum system, and couldn't find anything wrong. The past month, we've had snow on and off, so I would leave the house with the hubs locked on the snow days. I ran all the test tonight to find the problem, only to find I couldn't find one. Now, everything works perfect. I think the hubs were just kind of jammed up from lack of use. Now everything works fine, so just keep in mind you may need to lock your hubs manually every once and I while to keep them working right.
