Anyone seen one of these?

This little rod showed up on the floor of my truck. I can't figure out what it might have fallen out of. Maybe it's an extra that someone dropped somewhere during assembly and finally (10 yrs later) got out of where it got dropped. That's an "E" clip near the center, and the ends are slightly ball shaped.

I'm guessing something like a seat belt retractor part or maybe a door latch shaft, but everything works like it should.

Any guesses?

If you really want to know what it is and where it goes all you have to do is throw it away and I'll guarantee that as soon as it hits the dump that you will find out that you need it.

Just thinking about it I think that it is part of the AC controls. I know that I have seen something like it. It seams like what I am thinking of is some kind of spacer with the E clip keeping it from moving too far or falling out. Now weather it was on one of our trucks or somewhere else has me thinking and wondering.

I was also thinking that it could be part of you radio/cd player if you have one.

I don.t recoginize it, but if you found it on the front floor, it most likely came out from under the dash. It looks like something they would use in the air ducting? Thats the kind of thing I usually throw in the glove box and discover later whats its for when something doesn,t work.

Looks like an alien tracking device. Do you have any holes in your head?

Maybe, what's it worth?

LOL, haven't noticed any extras.

I found it back by the right rear door. It was after a hard left turn that had stuff sliding around.

It looks pristine, with no wear marks, so I'm leaning toward the extra part that some assembly person dropped. I did find a spare end for the heater damper actuator when the truck was new.
