A/C Fan will only work on high

Hi everyone, I have a 2006 F-250 with the Auto climate control system, The Fan will only work on high, If you try to adjust to a lower speed the fan stops completely, A/C compressor still cycles, does anyone have any idea short of replacing the complete climate control module?
Many Thanks
Ken

In general the lower speeds go through a set of resistors. High speed is straight 12 volts. In the old trucks it meant your resistor or fan speed block burned out.

Does this truck have EATC (electronic panel) or manual temperature control (three dials)?

I am curious to find a fix for this problem as well. I have the manual (three dial) AC and the fan selector (4 speeds) only works in the last two (high) speeds regardless if it is set to vent, AC, or MaxAC

I have no idea how these SD's are set up, but with my Toyota low went out, then 2, then 3, and only high worked. Toyota wanted $50 for a new resistor, so I found a couple replacement resisitors at the junk yard and now all speeds work.

Where exactly are the resistors located. Couldn't one just take a meter and check the ohms to see if that was the problem assuming you knew what resistance they were supposed to be?

Problem Solved!

Got it fixed! Had to replace the blower motor resistor assembly. Not sure if it makes a difference if you have the EATC (electronic panel) or manual temperature control (three dials) but mine is the manual. The part is listed from 99 through 2007 models but again not sure if it makes a difference on which system you have. I am doing a write up with the part numbers and some pics for those who may find it helpful. I will post it when I am done.

I have EATC on my X, and I had to replace that resistor assembly too last fall. Not the worst or dirtiest job at all. Just some time and the part.

No problem. Good luck. It sure is nice to be able to run the AC on all four settings again.
