Changing to F250 spring spacers, can I use existing Ubolts?

I am changing out my rear spring spacers from the 4" ones to the 2" ones that are stock on an F250... Can I use my existing ubolts, will I have to change to shorter ones, will F250 ubolts be long enough for the helper springs?

While I am sure there are persons who will say different, I feel the ubolts are a use once and throw them away even if they will fit. Just MHO.

You can just use the ones you have now and cut them off after you get them tight or trade me for my ubolts and blocks. I have a 250 with the 2" block and want to go to 4".

Rule 1. NEVER reuse u-bolts. Even if they look brand new. Throw them away and buy some new ones that are the proper length and strength, etc.

The Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that explained to Ford techs how to do this procedure includes: "Install new rear axle U-bolts and nuts..."

Here is that TSB:

I have reused U bolts plenty of times, especially on the rear axle.

But in your situation you will need to get the shorter ones as the threads don't run long enough down on the longer bolts. You'll need the shorter blocks and the shorter U bolts, try to take one of the old ones with you to the dealer and it will help a lot in figuring out which ones to get as there are several different ones depending on SRW or DRW axles and it can get confusing. I used to have all the p/n's around here somewhere and if I find them I'll let ya know.
