Clicking noise under dash

I have a clicking noise coming from under the dash in my F250. It kinda sounds like the keys hitting the column. It is completely random and I have not found any way to duplicate it. Any ideas? I was thinking it could be a relay but it does not really sound like one. This noise is a little deeper. The only other thing going on is a hissing noise that is coming from my booster, I think, only when I turn the wheel. For some reason this has stopped the last few days.

Is this happening when you are driving (i.e. engine running), or while trying to start?

I had a sound like that only when trying to start until I replaced my batteries. New, strong Optimas and have not heard the problem since....

I 2nd that, check the condition of your batteries including making sure that the connections are nice and clean. My relays chattered like mad until I replaced both batteries. BTW, my relays chattered when I drove as well.

Mine would do that when my batteries were undercharged due to a bad alternator. Replaced the alternator and my batteries charged up good and the clicking was gone. (The clicking was one of the relays under my dash.)
