The logic in this is crazy,

If the switch goes back with the fuse link ,,, the link goes, then you have to replace both the link and the switch... and guess what? you and I that have the switch go bad and blow the fuse then get to pay for the time and the switch...

"Three threads were combined........"

I see, no problem just thought it was odd but no hard feelings

A little whining once in a while does not hurt, if it did, the wife would be dead by now...lol

Will take my truck in soon, don't really like to have dealer techs touch it, things tend to break when they have it......

When threads on the same topic are combined by VBulletin software, the posts are placed in the new thread by posting time. So you were the second member to post the similar topic, and thus your post wound up second in the combined thread.

I stopped by Wabash Ford in Indy (PowerStrokeShop) and had the recall work done. Took less than a half hour from the time I walked in until I was back on the road again. They did tell me that part of the recall was to check for brake fluid inside the harness connector, if detected then the switch is also to be replaced.

so the presence of brake fluid in the connector gets the switch replaced? hmmmmm....(reaches for can of brake fluid)

I stated it the same way that the tech said it to me. I didn't ask him to clarify, so I don't know if that meant that the switch would be a free replacement though.

I had mine done yesterday AM. From hood open to hood shut, less than 10 minutes. They inspected the switch, then added the fusible link harness. I asked a few questions about it, and was told that if the fuse blows, it's due to the switch issues. When it does blow that this same recall will cover the repair at a later date. Although I do find this hard to believe, since when I gave the pencil pusher behind the computer my VIN to run it, he told me they were only going to do an "inspection" and not add the fusible link. But luckily the tech knew better!

Sounds like you guys have better dealers than what I have. I took mine in last friday for the CPS and the Cruise recall and they had the truck for about 2 hours! Not a big deal to me, but come on...it shouldn't have taken that long! For the cruise thing, they said mine was fine and simply added the harness. I noticed the fuse in the harness, but didn't ask what I should do if it blows....good to know what to do now.
