Diesel Ringtone for my Phone

I am looking for a downloadable ringtone of an idling diesel. I would prefer the 6.0L if possible. I just got a new phone and have never done this before. Thanks for any help.

Re: Diesel Ringtone for my Phone

Well depending on what service you have I think the options are real limited. I have a nextel and the only thing they had is a corsa durcrap...2 options. It sounds pretty good and I was real surprised to hear it.

Re: Diesel Ringtone for my Phone

Does anyone have a FORD diesel wav file or mp3 file? My phone is a Treo and will use anything for a ring tone. I would like a sound of one standing on it, turbo howling!

How would you hear your phone ring when you're driving?

I've thought of using a diesel ringtone too, but am too cell-phone challenged to even attempt it. My phone just lets me make and recieve calls.

If you have a microphone and a laptop, you can record your own wav file.

On edit: I almost forgot about the PSD startup sound I have on my computer. Check your e-mail.

Re: Diesel Ringtone for my Phone

For Nextel users get a usb data cable and this cd from ebay. One common mistake when using the software that comes with the cd is not telling the software to use the usb port instead of the com port. The software will allow you to transfer wav and mp3 files to your phone. You might have to convert them to the proper bitrate first though. PM me if you need assistance converting mp3 files for use with nextel phones. I would imagine the guy selling the cd has converted all the ringtones contained on the cd for you.

Re: Diesel Ringtone for my Phone

Now this has me wanting the engine sound on my phone...

My problem - I have to message a ringtone to my old Motorola v60i. It's an imelody format (imy), which is pretty close to midi.

.wav and .mp3's won't work. Does anybody have a tool or a link to one which will convert an mp3 or wav to an .imy or .mid file?

Thanks

Phil

Can't really do that. wav and mp3 are encoded versions of actual audio. imy and mid are like sheet music. They only tell HOW to play the song, but the sound will always be a cheap approximation of beeps for notes, depending on the quality of the midi instrument database. You'll never hear vocals with a mid or imy file. mp3 and wav could record anything from a diesel engine to a duck fart. Only cellphones with a diesel engine and duck "instruments" would be able to reproduce mid or imy notes.

sorry-
