You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
Been wanting to see San Diego again, it's been a long time. Of course I gotta bring my truck, need my tools.
Could you imangine tools on an airplane. "1200 lbs of checked baggage"

The local Ford dealer wanted $1254.00 (that's right) to fix all four door locks on my 2000 CC F-250. I found a local shop that installs alarms and boom-chakka-boom sound systems. He did all four doors for $264.00
Try to find one of those guys... you might want to buy OEM locks on-line and supply the hardware... you never know what type of generic mechanicals the local sound guy would install. On the other hand, the Ford mechanicals have gone bad, so the sound guy may have a better product.

It really surprised me when I did it. This is a better than new unit fix.

well when you sit at the firestation for 24 hrs at a time, you normally have time to complete some personal projects, unless the ghetto next door decides to burn somethin down. luckily this time it was only a trash can, and i got to finish my little project without to much interuption. thank goodness i finished when i did, cuz later on we had a nice little 4-plex burn. fun stuff

Appreciate all the replies, smart@#$% or not. Two hours = four new locks. Piece of cake!

I replaced the drivers door the other day. Got a factory lock from Mercury dealer for $60 and replaced in 30min. I didnt have the time to repair the old one but kept it so I'll have a spare and I can rebiuld it at my leisure. The new locks have been upgraded from the old ones also.
