driveing lights turn on at 2 am

parked 2001 f 350 at 4 pm. At 2am drive headlights came on, Will only turn off if ign key on and off,then come back on in 2 min. took off bat cable10 hr. still same problem.could it be bad selinoid,shorted wires,ign sw?thanks jim alberta canada

Is it dark before 2am?
Is there some kind of timer for that? light senor that could have gone south?

A friend had the same thing happen. Turned out to be his break controller. He never figured it out so he pulled his controller and 7-way. Never did it again...

Could be the GEM module, or maybe battery low voltage. The GEM tends to do weird stuff when the voltage gets low, although I've never heard of lights coming on. Wipers, horn, etc, but not lights.

Maybe there's a short between circuits that heats up the light sensor that's normally dead when the key is off.

Maybe the truck's just afraid of the dark.
